Common Fence Questions

Does Thomas Fence pull permits for customers?

No. Because rules vary significantly between cities and HOAs, each customer handles their own permit. Thomas Fence is happy to assist and answer questions about the process.

How long should I wait before staining a new wood fence?

It depends on the wood type and season. Pressure-treated pine typically needs 1 to 3 months to dry before staining. Cedar can usually be stained immediately.

Does Thomas Fence use concrete for fence posts?

Yes. As a best practice, posts are set in concrete unless otherwise agreed upon with the customer.

How long does fence installation take?

A typical residential fence installation takes 2 to 3 business days, depending on the type and length of fence.
